titleOfInvention Optical assembly for interferometric measurement
abstract An optical assembly (26) is used for interferometric measurement of a measuring light beam (3). The assembly has a birefringent medium (16) with an optical axis (8) which is rotatably mounted about an axis of rotation (6) which is perpendicular to a main ray (4) of a beam path (4) of the linearly polarized measuring light beam (3). The birefringent medium (16) has a rotationally symmetrical, circumferential optical surface (9) about the axis of rotation (6) for the entry and exit of the measuring light beam (3). The optical axis (8) encloses a finite angle with respect to the axis of rotation (6). An input polarization axis of a polarization direction of the measuring light beam (3) encloses an angle in the range between 10° and 80° with a measuring light beam plane of incidence (xz). An output analyzer (17) and a detector (12) for the measuring light beam (3) are arranged downstream of the birefringent medium (16) in the beam path of the measuring light beam (3). The result is an optical assembly that can be used for a variety of measurement tasks with a compact design.
