abstract The invention relates to a computer-implemented method for training a machine model for determining a clinical study design, the study design comprising an active substance dosage, an active substance dosage scheme and / or patient-relevant measurement parameters as an end point as well as an appropriate comparative therapy for a clinical study for the evaluation of a drug treatment of a medical indication with an active ingredient to be assessed, in particular for predicting the additional benefit of a drug treatment of a medical indication compared to the standard of care as part of a post-licensing evaluation at the point in time after the end of the study, the method comprising: - Provision of pairs of reference study designs and the associated known additional reference benefit, in particular provision of pairs of reference study designs and their evaluation by institutions for the post-licensing evaluation and the associated known additional reference benefit resulting therefrom; - processing the reference study designs in a machine model; Obtaining a simulated added benefit for each reference study design from the machine model, and - Training of the machine model by adapting parameters of the machine model in such a way that a deviation of the simulated additional benefits from the reference additional benefits is minimized. The invention also relates to a system for data processing which comprises means for executing the computer-implemented method and a computer program which comprises commands which, when the computer program is executed on a data processing system, cause it to execute the computer-implemented method.
