Method for operating a hybrid vehicle, which has an electric machine (3) as the first drive unit, an internal combustion engine (2) as the second drive unit, a separating clutch (4) connected between the internal combustion engine (2) and the electric machine (3), and a separating clutch (4) connected between the electric Machine (3) and an output (6) switched transmission (5). When driving purely on electric power, the separating clutch is opened, with a closing process of the separating clutch (4) being carried out depending on the presence of a control-side request to close the separating clutch (4) from purely electric driving, and depending on the presence of a control-side request for execution an upshift in the transmission (5) a gear change is carried out from an actual gear of the upshift to a target gear of the upshift. If there is a request from the controller to close the separating clutch (4) and if there is a request from the controller to carry out an upshift, it is checked whether the upshift is necessary in order to prevent a vehicle speed from reaching or exceeding a speed limit value. Then, when the upshift is required to avoid the vehicle speed reaching or exceeding the speed limit, execution of the upshift in the transmission is prioritized over execution of the disconnect clutch engagement. |
