Oxidizing an outer surface of the oxidizable metal layer (4) by means of anodization with the formation of a metal oxide layer (5). In order to enable inexpensive, environmentally friendly and material-friendly production of metallized plastic components (1) on a serial scale while at the same time flexibly setting the color of the metallization, a predetermined color of the metal oxide layer (5) is set over the layer thickness of the metal oxide layer (5) formed. The present invention also relates to a metallized plastic component (1) and a use of a metallized plastic component (1) in a motor vehicle interior or a motor vehicle exterior. |
