The invention relates to an imidazole ylide compound for use as a shut-down additive for lithium-ion batteries of the formula (I) where R 1 to R 4 are each independently a linear or branched C 1 to C 16 alkyl group or a C 2 to C 16 alkenyl group or a C 3 to C 8 cycloalkyl group or a C 2 to C 16 arene group or R2 or R3 are H, where R 1 to R 4 are each independently completely, partially or non-fluorinated and R1 to R3 each contain O as a heteroatom or are free of heteroatoms other than F as well as an electrolyte and a battery. |
