titleOfInvention Process for obtaining insect meal
abstract A method for the industrial breeding of the black soldier fly and for the further processing of its larvae into insect meal is disclosed. This can be used, for example, as feed for living creatures, in particular for animals, which in turn are kept for human consumption. In particular, the method disclosed here achieves particularly low production costs with high product quality. This is achieved on the one hand by the disclosed substrate selection and by the disclosed production parameters. Despite medium moisture input, low energy consumption in the process chain is achieved using wet screening processes. By doing without hermetically sealed bioreactors, a significantly less cost-intensive production is achieved.
