titleOfInvention Process for the termination of optical radiation as well as optical beam traps designed for this purpose
abstract Beam trap for optical radiation, which has an absorption body (3) with an entry surface (4) for the optical radiation (1), characterized, that the absorption body (3) consists of a crystalline material with an imaginary refractive index for the optical radiation (1) to be absorbed, which leads to an absorption length of the optical radiation (1) of> 1 mm in the absorption body (3), wherein the crystalline material emits fluorescence radiation when the optical radiation (1) is absorbed and one or more surfaces of the absorption body (3) are provided with a coating that reflects or absorbs the fluorescence radiation in order to prevent, or at least, leakage of the fluorescence radiation from the absorption body (3) to reduce.
