abstract A light source (12) for fluorescence diagnosis, the light source (12) providing an illumination beam path, has the following: A first semiconductor illuminant-based light emission unit (32) which is designed to emit first light (34) in a broadband first wavelength spectrum ; a second semiconductor illuminant-based light emission unit (36) which is designed to emit second light (38) in a narrow-band second wavelength spectrum to excite fluorescence; furthermore a spectral filter (52) for the first light emission unit (32), which is designed to block spectral components of the first wavelength spectrum that are assigned to a color channel of a camera (26) with which the fluorescence is to be detected, and the remaining spectral components of the pass the first wavelength spectrum; a brightness controller (60) for the first light emission unit (32) for dimming the intensity of the emitted first light (34); and an optical intensity attenuation element (54) for the first light emission unit (32), with which the intensity of the emitted first light (34) can be reduced below the minimum intensity which can be achieved by means of the brightness control (60) without the intensity attenuation element. A system for fluorescence diagnosis and a method for fluorescence diagnosis are also described.
