abstract |
The present invention provides improved printed heaters for use with articles such as e.g. As garments and seats, ready. The improvement involves replacing the single large area resistive material layer with columns of a number of small pieces of resistive material or continuous resistive material, ie, replacing the single large area heater with a number of smaller individual heaters. A series of conductive strips across the gaps ensures that the heater is more robust and less sensitive to local resistance area failure. The printing of the resistive material is facilitated because the area of each piece of resistive material is greatly reduced. In addition, the embodiments allow for the potential provision of a breathable heater. |
