PROCEDURE FOR PROGRESSING AND PROGRAMMABLE TIMEOUTS OF TREE TRANSVERSION MECHANISMS IN HARDWARE |
abstract |
In a beam tracker, a traversal coprocessor provides a preemptive mechanism that allows beams to stop processing or time out early to prevent any long running query from getting stuck in the graphics processing unit. The non-limiting implementation examples described herein provide such a preemptive mechanism with an advance guarantee and additional programmable timeout options, which can be time or cycle based. These programmable options provide a means of quality of service timing guarantees for applications such as: B. virtual reality (VR), which have strict timing requirements, ready. |
