titleOfInvention Screenings washing press mlt double cone drainage
abstract Screenings are usually dewatered in sewage treatment plants using screw presses, in which the screenings are pressed into the press pipe against the wall friction resistance. In the case of the screenings washing press with double-cone drainage, the screenings are pressed through a funnel-shaped narrowing ring cross-section, which means that the screenings have to be realigned again and again and any moisture lenses that may be broken open this allows better drainage. Through the slotted, step-shaped outer and inner walls (outer drainage cone 9 and inner drainage cone 8), the press water can escape in the shortest possible way across the pressing direction. The central bearing (29, 35) and the axially parallel casing drive (17, 18, 19) of the press screw enable a second free press screw end for the cultivation of a large-area washing water supply (12, 11, 23) and press water discharge (16). Due to the large flow cross-sections in the washing (12, 11) and rinsing water supply (22, 23), the usual use of service water can be dispensed with, since here pumped water (inexpensive) from the channel behind the fine screen can be used. The high-speed reverse rotation of the press screw during washing operation generates, with the shear plates (27) and the flow guide plate (13), a washing-effective circulating flow in the screenings funnel (21), which is additionally supported by the washing water supply. The screenings washing press is shown in Figure 4 as an axial longitudinal section.
