titleOfInvention Method for producing a magnetocaloric component
abstract In the method for producing a magnetocaloric member, powdered metal or metal alloy magnetocaloric material having a melting temperature lower than 500 ° C is mixed and formed into the desired component shape by a molding process. Subsequently, a heat treatment is performed in which a maximum temperature which is kept at most 10 K higher than the melting temperature of the metal or the metal alloy. At least 90% of the molten metal or metal alloy surrounds the magnetocaloric particles and the magnetocaloric particles are embedded in the metal or metal alloy after the melt solidifies. It is also possible to carry out an infiltration of the shaped body with a polymer on a shaped body brought into the desired structural shape and then cure the polymer by removal of a solvent or by irradiation with UV radiation or reaction of a binder with a hardening agent.
