abstract A circuit housing has a plurality of outer wall members defining a volume and a volume adjacent housing venting assembly. The housing venting assembly includes a ventilation wall member having a ventilation passage defined therethrough, a ventilation cover assembly, and an arc shield assembly. The ventilation cover assembly is coupled to cover the ventilation passage with the ventilation wall member and configured to admit gases through the ventilation passage in the circuit housing, to prevent ingress of water into the circuit housing and to prevent the escape of an arc fault discharge from the housing. The arc shield assembly includes an arc shield rotatably coupled to the housing ventilation assembly and configured to rotate between a first open position and a second closed position, the first open position allowing gas flow through the ventilation passage into the circuit housing and the second Closed position prevents the escape of an arc fault discharge from the circuit housing.
