abstract The invention relates to electrohydraulic brake system comprising hydraulic service brakes (17.1 - 17.4) on at least two brake circuits (3.1, 3.2, 4.1, 4.2); a brake operating means (1) having a braking request detecting device (5); a master brake cylinder (2) acted upon by the brake actuating means (1); a service brake control device (6) processing signals of the braking request detecting device (5); a hydraulic unit (9) with a motor-operated hydraulic pressure supply (12) and with Raddruckmodulatoren (16) for pressurizing the brake circuits (3.1, 3.2, 4.1, 4.2); with controllable separating valves (20.1, 20.2) between the master brake cylinder (2) and at least a part of the hydraulic service brakes (17.1, 17.2) .The invention is characterized in that the hydraulic unit (9) is driven by a shape memory actuator (21) hydraulic pressure generator (22 ) and a self-sufficient power supply (23) for the shape memory actuator (21).
