titleOfInvention | Kits and methods for removing contaminants from a sample containing nucleic acid |
abstract | The present invention relates to a method for the removal of enzyme-inhibiting polyanions, such as humic substances from a sample containing nucleic acid, which is preferably a biological sample or an environmental sample. The invention further relates to a method for isolating nucleic acids from a biological sample or environmental sample with removal of enzyme-inhibiting polyanions. The invention further comprises reagents for carrying out the method according to the invention and a test kit containing these reagents. The invention also relates to the use of an aqueous buffer containing lithium chloride or lithium acetate for the selective elution of nucleic acids from weak anion exchangers with continued binding of the enzyme-inhibiting polyanions. |
