abstract | The present invention relates to a dosage form for an oral cavity active ingredient comprising a first film layer and a second film layer disposed over the first film layer, wherein the composition of the first may be identical to that of the second film layer and comprises a water soluble polymer first and second film layers are joined together via their overlapping edges to form at least one cavity, and wherein the cavity is filled with an active substance. In this configuration, the dosage form forms a pocket formed by two water-soluble film layers so that when the bag is received in the mouth, the film layers can dissolve and release an active ingredient contained in the pocket. The bag configuration allows for increased drug content over comparable OTF films while avoiding temperature stress of the drug in the preparation of the dosage form. The advantageous properties of the known administration forms in the form of thin films are essentially retained. The present invention also relates to a method for the preparation of the administration form. |
