abstract | The invention relates to the use of pellets as starting material for the production of organic molecules having a maximum molar mass of 1000 g / mol, obtained from cellulose or hemicellulose, wherein the pellets of lignocellulosic biomass are produced, which is subjected to a substantially ammonia-free steam explosion treatment. Furthermore, the present invention also relates to compacts which can be prepared from a lignocellulosic biomass containing cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin, wherein 20 wt .-% to 95 wt .-% of hemicellulose to monomeric sugars and at least 2 wt .-% of Cellulose are hydrolyzed to monomeric sugars, wherein the monomeric sugars can be separated before the preparation of the compacts. |
