Methods and systems for capturing particulate matter through a particulate matter (FS) probe disposed downstream of a diesel particulate filter in an exhaust system are provided. In one example, an FS sensor assembly may include rows of flowpaths that are separated by a gap, wherein each of the flowpaths includes a positive and a negative electrode formed on opposite side surfaces. By aligning lobes in the space between successive flowpaths, exhaust FS can circulate in the gap between the electrodes for a longer time, thereby increasing the likelihood of trapping across the electrodes, thereby increasing the sensitivity of the exhaust FS detection assembly becomes. |
