abstract According to the invention, an implant (10) is provided which contains an antibiotic depot. This depot is formed by a plurality of blind holes (14) which are inserted into the surface of the implant and which, at least in part, are filled with an antibiotic or a mixture of different antibiotics. The holes have a depth that exceeds their width so that a slow and gradual release of antibiotics can be achieved.
