abstract Method for microscopy of a sample (02) with a microscope, which comprises an objective (20) and an image sensor (21), wherein a field of view of the microscope on the image sensor side can be changed by selecting a section of the image sensor (21); the method comprising the steps of: - Recording an initial image of at least a partial area of the sample (02) with the microscope, for which a first field of view is selected on the microscope, for which a first section of the image sensor (21) is selected and read out, the initial image as a microscopic image (03 ) a first partial area of the sample (02) is recorded, for which the first field of view is selected as a partial area-imaging field of view; Determination of at least two different partial area-mapping fields of view by analyzing the initial image, a partial area of the initial image being mapped by each of the partial-area-mapping fields of view; and - Recording of images (03) of the partial areas of the sample (02) for each of the determined partial area-imaging fields of view.
