abstract | Fuel cell module (10), which has: a fuel cell stack (12) containing a plurality of fuel cells (26) for generating electrical energy by electrochemical reactions between a fuel gas and an oxygen-containing gas; a reformer (14) for reforming raw fuel mainly containing hydrocarbon to thereby generate fuel gas to be supplied to the fuel cell stack (12); an evaporator (16) for evaporating water and supplying the water vapor to the reformer (14); an exhaust gas burner (18) for burning the fuel gas discharged from the fuel cell stack (12) as fuel gas and an oxygen-containing gas which is discharged from the fuel cell stack (12) as oxygen-containing exhaust gas to thereby generate a combustion exhaust gas; a start burner (20) for burning the raw fuel and the oxygen-containing gas to thereby generate a combustion gas; an air preheater (22) for heating the oxygen-containing gas by heat exchange with the combustion gas and / or the combustion exhaust gas, and supplying the heated oxygen-containing gas to the fuel cell stack (12); and a housing (24) in which the fuel cell stack (12), the reformer (14), the evaporator (16), the exhaust gas burner (18), the starting burner (20) and the air preheater (22) are accommodated; in which the housing (24) is formed from a plurality of plates (24a to 24e); at least one (24a) of the plates (24a to 24e) has an interior (32) in which the oxygen-containing gas can flow before the oxygen-containing gas flows into the air preheater (22); an interior of the housing (24) is filled with a granular heat insulating material (42); and an outside of the housing (24) is covered by a block-shaped heat insulating material (44). |
