titleOfInvention CORRECTION OF BIAS IN MEASURES OF THE AFFECTIVE RESPONSE
abstract Some aspects of this disclosure include systems, methods, and / or computer programs that can be used to correct bias in measures of affective response that are detected using sensors that measure users' physiological signals and / or behavioral signals. A bias can be a tendency, posture, and / or inclination that can affect a user's affective response to an experience. Some of the embodiments described herein include determining a model of the user's bias from measurements of the user's affective response and descriptions of events to which the measurements belong. The model may be used to correct the user's measurements for at least some of the effects of the user's bias. Such a correction process can help ensure that results generated from the metrics are more accurate, and that the privacy of the user is assured when the metrics or results are revealed.
