abstract A lamp (5) with a tubular piston (6), a longitudinally housed in the piston band-shaped circuit board (8) and a translucent film (1) open at the side, which on the circuit board (8) arranged semiconductor light sources (9) vaulted and on an inside of the piston nestles, wherein the film is formed on its two longitudinal sides (2) for holding the receiving circuit board. A method is used to produce the lamp (5), in which the film is bent twice in different directions on both its longitudinal sides, the film (1) is then rolled and pushed into the piston (6) and then the circuit board (8). is inserted into the receptacles formed on the two longitudinal sides in the piston. In another method, a first end cap is attached to an end portion of the circuit board (8) prior to its insertion. The invention is particularly applicable to retrofit lamps for replacement of conventional straight fluorescent lamps, e.g. of type T5 or T8, or to replace conventional line lamps.
