abstract Disclosed is a method and apparatus for providing water which has an oxidizing and disinfecting effect. To provide the water a raw water stream is fed into a reverse osmosis device and separated in this into a concentrate and a permeate stream. Ozone is produced by means of an ozone generator and introduced into the permeate stream leaving the reverse osmosis system. The method is preferably used in a dishwasher.
