For the efficient production of multi-layer value or security documents 10, a method is proposed in which the security or security document 10 is formed at least by a polymeric base layer 12 and a security element 11 laminated thereon. The method comprises the following process steps: (a) providing polymeric base material in the form of base polymeric base benefit 121 single or multiple polymeric base stock 120; (b) providing web material 115 in roll format to provide a plurality of security features utility 111; (c) generating the security elements benefits 111 on and / or in the web material 115; (d) merging and stacking each of a polymeric base material single or multiple utility 120 and security features utility 111 such that each of a polymeric base sheet utility 121 and a security utility benefit 111 are in register; and (e) laminating the respective polymeric base sheet benefits 121 and the security elements benefit 111 together. Security stock singles or multiples 110 are singulated from the roll stock 115 web material, with the security stock singles or multiples 110 having one or more security benefits 111. These single or multiple benefits 110 are then processed in process steps (d) and (e). |
