Hybrid crops obtained by restoring pollen fertility for pampa cytoplasmic male sterility (P CMS) and having increased resistance to a pathogen, preferably against the fungus Claviceps purpurea (Fr.), are provided. Plants are provided which, as a male pollen parent, are able to restore the pollen fertility for the P CMS. Furthermore, the nucleic acid molecule which carries the necessary information for the restoration of the P CMS, DNA and vectors containing such a nucleic acid molecule, corresponding transgenic host cells, plant cells and patches and seeds thereof are described. Further provided are methods for producing corresponding hybrid plants and transgenic plants. |
