abstract The invention relates to a method for recovering lithium chloride by removing water from a mixed composition containing at least one ion from the group of alkaline earth metals in addition to lithium and chloride, and may contain other ions of the group consisting of alkali metals, borates and sulfate in the auxiliary such as chemical agents, precipitants, ion exchange materials or solvents are not needed or with significantly reduced consumption to cause a complete separation of the lithium chloride from alkaline earth ions such as magnesium or calcium.
