A solid electrolytic capacitor including an anode body formed of an electrically conductive powder, a dielectric located above and / or inside the anode body, an adhesive coating covering the dielectric, and a solid electrolyte covering the adhesive coating; will be provided. The powder has a high specific charge and again a relatively dense packing configuration. The inventors have found that although the conductive polymer is formed from such a powder, it can be easily impregnated into the pores of the anode. This is accomplished, in part, by the use of a discontinuous precoating in the adhesive coating covering the dielectric. The precoat contains a plurality of discrete nanoprojections of a manganese oxide (eg, manganese dioxide). |
