Described are a method and an apparatus for determining the grain size of a fertilizer and / or a setting recommendation for a fertilizer spreader. By photographing a single-layered grain layer of the fertilizer in the top view, the grain size can be easily estimated on the basis of the area fraction of a measuring surface covered by the grain layer. Depending on data on the type of fertilizer spreader and the diffuser used, setting recommendations for the fertilizer spreader can be derived from the determined grain size and the associated fertilizer class. |
