abstract Aftertreatment device (1) for use in an internal combustion engine (E) comprising: Gas-liquid contact means (2) mounted on the exhaust pipe (EX) of an internal combustion engine (E) in which an adsorbing liquid comes into contact with certain gas components, the adsorbing liquid being capable of containing certain gas components contained in the exhaust gas adsorbed by the internal combustion engine (E); and a supply device of the adsorbent liquid (3) which supplies the adsorbing liquid to the gas-liquid contact means (2), wherein the gas-liquid contact means (2) comprises a porous body having a cylindrical housing (H) and an exhaust gas introducing means (4), the porous body being accommodated in the cylindrical housing (H), gas-liquid contact passages (22) formed in the porous body the adsorbent liquid supply means (3) is connected to an end part of the cylindrical housing (H) to face an end surface of the porous body, the exhaust gas introducing means (4) supplies the exhaust gas to an end part of the porous body in the cylindrical housing (H), and the exhaust gas introducing means (4) includes an exhaust gas introducing portion (41) and an opening portion (43, 46), the exhaust gas introducing portion (41) includes a chamber defined between an end surface of the porous base body and a supply portion of the adsorbing liquid (32) of the adsorptive liquid supplying device (3) is formed, and the opening portion (43, 46) is formed in a partition plate (42, 44) so that the exhaust gas and the adsorbent liquid pass through the opening portion (43), wherein the exhaust gas introducing means (4) has a double cylinder structure comprising an inner cylinder (44) and an outer cylinder (45), and the exhaust gas introducing portion (41) is formed in the inner cylinder (44), and an annular chamber (47) communicating with the exhaust pipe (EX) is formed between the inner cylinder (44) and the outer cylinder (45); 46) is formed on an inner cylinder wall serving as the partition plate (42), and the exhaust gas is introduced from an outer peripheral side of the inner cylinder (44).
