The invention relates to a process for the preparation of potassium sulfate granules, wherein the potassium sulfate during granulation, a sodium salt selected from sodium chloride, sodium sulfate, sodium sulfate hydrates, sodium hydroxide and mixtures thereof, in an amount of 0.1 to 7.5% by weight , in each case based on the potassium sulfate used, is added. Before or during the granulation process, water in an amount of 0.1 to 2.5% by weight is additionally added. The invention also relates to the granules obtained by the process and the use of sodium salts and glaserite and mixtures thereof for improving the mechanical properties of potassium sulfate granules. The potassium sulfate granules produced by the process according to the invention have significantly better bursting strengths and significantly improved abrasion resistance compared to the granules known from the prior art. |
