abstract |
The invention relates to a mass spectrometric method for determining the microbial resistance to antibiotics. It is determined in culture media with antibiotics, the decrease or change of special food constituents by the microbes and thus the metabolism of the microbes by mass spectrometry. It is thus not the microbes mass spectrometric analysis supplied, but the culture medium. The particular dietary constituents which are subject to mass spectrometric observation are indicators of the metabolism that microbes display in the culture in the presence of antibiotics and thus indicators of their susceptibility or resistance. |
