abstract A method for producing hollow metal nanotubes comprises a step of mixing a polyphenylene sulfide-containing resin with a water-soluble carrier resin to form a resin mixture. The resin mixture is then extruded to form an extruded resin mixture. The extruded resin mixture comprises fibers containing polyphenylene sulfide in the carrier resin. The extruded resin mixture is contacted (i.e., washed) with water to separate the polyphenylene sulfide-containing fibers from the carrier resin. The polyphenylene sulfide-containing fibers are then coated with a metal layer. Thereafter, the hollow metal tubes are formed by removing the polyphenylene sulfide-containing fibers.
