titleOfInvention | Method for detecting a chiral analyte |
abstract | The invention relates to a method for detecting a chiral analyte. Here, a chiral analyte 3 is contacted with an achiral supramolecular host-guest complex 4 from a cucurbituril 1 and a dye 2 in an aqueous solution. A chiral supramolecular host-dye-analyte complex 5 is formed. The analyte 3 alone does not show a characteristic ICD spectrum 6, while the chiral supramolecular host-dye-analyte complex 5 shows an analyte 3-specific ICD spectrum 7 , The invention thus enables a sensitive and specific detection of chiral analytes with aromatic recognition motifs. |
