abstract The invention relates to a method for producing a value document or a security element, comprising a) providing a substrate; b) the application of a flowable, UV-crosslinkable color layer containing effect pigments to the substrate by means of a first screen printing unit; c) the incomplete crosslinking of the UV-crosslinkable, color pigments containing effect pigments applied to the substrate by means of a first UV drying device, in order to increase the viscosity of the ink layer and make it printable; d) contacting the incompletely crosslinked, coated on the substrate UV-crosslinking, effect pigments containing ink layer with a stamping tool within a second screen printing unit to provide the ink layer in this way with a macroscopic embossed structure, wherein the recesses of the macroscopic embossed structure have a depth in a range of 13 μm to 30 μm; e) the complete crosslinking of the applied to the substrate, provided with an embossed structure, UV-crosslinkable, effect pigments containing color layer by means of a second UV-drying device.
