The invention relates to a process for the preparation of a substituted phenylacetic acid and ester derivatives thereof. In the process, toluene or toluene substituted by various substituents, alcohol, oxidizing agent, and carbon monoxide are used as raw materials. By complex catalyst catalysis formed from transition metal and ligand, compounds comprising the structure of phenylacetic acid ester or its analogue are obtained. By hydrolysis of such compounds, various substituted phenylacetic acid compounds can be obtained. These types of compounds and their derivatives are widely used as important fine chemicals in the industries of pharmaceuticals, pesticides, perfume and the like. |
