titleOfInvention Transparent colorless lithium aluminum silicate glass-ceramic and their use
abstract A transparent colorless lithium aluminum silicate (LAS) glass ceramic and its use is described, which has an environmentally friendly composition with high quartz mixed crystals as the main crystal phase and favorable production properties. The glass ceramic contains the following components (in% by weight based on oxide): TiO 2 1.6 - <2.5; Nd 2 O 3 0.005-0.15; MgO 0.2-1.0; ZnO 1-2.5; CaO + SrO 0-1.5; BaO 0-1.5 with the condition B1: MgO + ZnO> CaO + SrO + BaO. The glass ceramic has a coloring c * of less than 5.5, a light transmission Y of greater than 81% and is without visually disturbing scattering.
