abstract | An evaporator filling device contains a filling connection. The filling connection forms an open interior area. The open interior area is designed to receive a mouthpiece of an anesthetic bottle. A central reservoir is designed to receive and store an anesthetic. A valve is disposed between the open interior and the central reservoir. At least one vent extends through the filling port. A method for filling an evaporator includes inserting the mouthpiece of an anesthetic-filled bottle into an evaporator filler. A fluid connection through the at least one vent is closed. The fluid connection between the open interior and the central reservoir is open. Anesthetic flows into a central reservoir of an evaporator. The fluid connection between the open interior and the central reservoir is closed. The at least one vent is opened to establish fluid communication with the open interior. The pressure within the open interior is dissipated by the at least one vent. |
