abstract Conventional ceramic components often show a change in their specific electrical parameters under use conditions with increasing service life. The cause may be the contact of the ceramic base body with ambient media. The present invention provides a ceramic component with an inner protective layer and an outer protective layer for encapsulating the component and a method for its production. The components according to the invention have improved stability and reliability with regard to their specific electrical parameters under operating conditions and are suitable, for example, as NTC thermistors for automotive applications.
