titleOfInvention Process for embedding decor bodies in a polymer matrix
abstract A method for embedding decor bodies in a silicone rubber matrix comprises applying a first curable polysiloxane composition to a baseplate and inoculating the first polysiloxane composition; applying the decorative bodies to the first polysiloxane grafted composition; filling interstices between the decorative bodies with a second curable polysiloxane composition; and curing the polysiloxane compositions to form a transparent polysiloxane matrix having decorative bodies embedded therein. Another method of embedding decorative bodies in a silicone rubber matrix comprises applying a curable polysiloxane composition to a base plate and applying the decorative bodies prior to fusing the first polysiloxane composition; allowing the deposited decorative bodies to sink into the thermosetting polysiloxane composition such that the applied decorative bodies are completely enclosed by the polysiloxane composition; and curing the polysiloxane compositions to form a transparent polysiloxane matrix having the decorative bodies embedded therein such that a majority of the embedded decorative bodies remain completely enclosed by the polysiloxane composition.
