titleOfInvention | Craser device, imaging system and method |
abstract | A craser device, an imaging system using a craser device, and an imaging method. The craser device comprises: an amplifying medium having excited amplifying atoms emitting X-ray and / or gamma ray photons, a transmission medium abutting the gain medium, and a reflective mirror having one or more lower refractive index layers and the transmission medium is applied. The transmission medium has a higher refractive index than the gain medium and at least one of the materials in the reflective mirror. The x-ray and / or gamma ray photons are trapped in the transmission medium by total reflection and interact several times with the excited amplifying atoms by evanescent waves that produce amplified stimulated emission that results in the formation of an incoherent or coherent x-ray or gamma ray. |
