abstract |
The invention relates to a reusable crucible and its use in the production of a mono- or multicrystalline semi-metal body from a melt, in particular by directional solidification of a melt received in the crucible or by pulling a single crystal from a melt received in the crucible, preferably from one Si melt. The crucible is formed from a silicon nitride ceramic, in particular from reaction bonded silicon nitride (RBSN) or nitride bonded silicon nitride (NBSN). According to the invention, an oxygen-enriched surface layer is formed on the inner surface of the crucible by selective thermal oxidation of the silicon nitride ceramic, which effectively prevents adhesion of the melt received in the crucible during production of the monocrystalline or multicrystalline semi-metal body. The crucible can thus be reused for a new process cycle. |
