titleOfInvention | Polymer composition and process for the preparation of products with variable biodegradability |
abstract | The present invention relates to a polymer composition comprising at least one biodegradable thermoplastic polymer (biopolymer) selected from the group comprising polylactides, polyhydroxyalkanoates and degradable polyesters, which contains according to the invention at least one photocatalytically active substance and at least one photochromic and / or at least one thermochromic substance. Biopolymers are thus obtained in which the rate of degradation can be adjusted to the specific application, thereby simultaneously lending the products a novel functionality. This is done by the addition of photochromic or thermochromic pigments and by other photocatalytically active agents or by the combination of these agents. In parallel, the incorporation of photochromic or thermochromic pigment enables light and thermal management according to the practical requirements of the product. |
