titleOfInvention Process and preservation solution for cryopreservation of insect sperm
abstract The invention relates to a method for the cryopreservation of insect sperm as well as a preservation solution for the cryopreservation of insect sperm. In the method according to the invention, dialysis is carried out against a preservation solution. The sperm is therefore not mixed with a diluting and / or preserving solution by stirring, but it is dialyzed directly against the preservative solution. By this dialysis process, the native sperm clusters, which are present in many insect species, u. a. at the bee, received. The preservative solution according to the invention comprises at least one non-reducing sugar as cryoprotective agent. A well-suited non-reducing sugar is trehalose.
