abstract |
In a method of forming a chemically modified metal or metal alloy surface or surface metal oxide or metal alloy oxide layer having submicron surface texture patterns, the entire surface of the metal or metal alloy or metal or metal alloy oxide layer on the metal or the metal alloy on which the structures are to be formed and which are exposed for laser irradiation, scanned one or more times with a pulsed laser beam in an atmosphere of surface-reacting gas or gas mixture in such a way that adjacent laser beam spots are seamless abut each other or overlap and a certain range of a given relation between process parameters is met. |
