titleOfInvention Rotor and method of forming same
abstract A method of forming a rotor of an electromagnetic device includes: a channel defined by an anchor sheet package and having a curved cross-section is substantially filled with a slurry comprising a polymer and a plurality of permanent magnetic particles, each one permanent magnetic moment, a magnetic field having a plurality of magnetic field lines arranged in a predetermined geometry to which slurry is applied in situ within the channel to thereby align the magnetic moment of each permanently magnetic particle along the field, and the polymer is cured to permanently align the magnetic moment of each permanent magnetic particle along the field thereby to locate a permanent magnet within the channel to form the rotor, the permanent magnet abutting the package and substantially the channel fills, whereby the channel is substantially free of an air gap between the stack and the permanent magnet. There is also disclosed a rotor formed by the method.
