titleOfInvention Method and device for cleaning an external heating roller
abstract According to the present invention, there is provided a method and apparatus for maintaining a clean and effective surface of an external heat roller in a printing system. The disclosed embodiments use a cleaning roller in contact with the external heating roller, which is designed to remove and remove contamination products that would otherwise accumulate on and in the rough surface of the external heating roller. The cleaning roller rotates simultaneously with the heating roller such that the cleaning medium cleans the roller by a gripping movement as opposed to a wiping movement. This gives a maximum cleaning effect without undesirable wear and erosion of the bristles that would otherwise occur in conventional methods of wiping.
