Method and device for splitting water |
abstract |
The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for cleaving water and / or forming reactive species from water. It is an object of the present invention to provide a method and an apparatus for the decomposition of water and / or for the formation of reactive species from water, which overcome the disadvantages of the prior art. The inventive method comprises the following steps: Provision of a water phase and a gas phase such that a boundary region of water phase and gas phase is present, wherein the water phase comprises at least 50% water and the gas phase at least partially contains water vapor, and coupling high-frequency electromagnetic radiation in the border region of water phase and gas phase, wherein the electromagnetic radiation has a frequency between 100 kHz to 500 MHz and wherein the electric field strength of the electromagnetic radiation is at least in a part of the boundary region at least 10 kV / cm. |
