abstract | The invention relates to a method for operating a fuel cell (10) and to a fuel cell (10) configured for carrying out the method, wherein an electrical power (P soll ) requested by an electrical load (52) is determined as a function of the requested power ( P soll ) a requested cell power (P soll, FC ) of the fuel cell (10) is determined and depending on the determined requested cell power (P soll, FC ) of the fuel cell (10) an output power (P off ) or one with the output power ( P out ) corresponding electrical size of the fuel cell (10) is controlled or regulated. It is provided that in the presence of a requested cell power (P soll, FC ) which is greater than a current output power (P out ) of the fuel cell (10) or which is substantially equal to the instantaneous power output (P out ), (a) the fuel cell (10) is first operated for a predetermined duration (Δt) to provide a higher output power (P out ) by a predetermined amount (ΔP) than the requested cell power (P soll, FC ), and (b) subsequently controlling or regulating the fuel cell (10) to provide an output power (P out ) corresponding to the requested cell power (P soll, FC ). |
