titleOfInvention Medical, self-adhesive, disposable flexible electrode and method of making same
abstract The invention relates to a medical, self-adhesive, disposable flexible electrode for the non-invasive supply or discharge of electrical signals via the skin of a human or animal and a method for their preparation. Based on the disadvantages of the known prior art, a small-format disposable electrode is to be created, which avoids the disadvantages of known electrodes and is characterized by a simple structure, cost-effective production and good performance properties. For this purpose, an electrode is proposed as a solution, consisting of a self-adhesively treated substrate 1 having an area of 100 to 850 mm 2 , a fixedly connected to the substrate 1 electrically conductive sensor 5, preferably made of plastic, and a gel carrier 7. At least in the direction Skin-facing contact surface 5 'of the sensor 5 is coated with a thin silver-silver chloride layer, with a silver content of 0.02 to 0.15 mg / mm 2 . The gel carrier consists of flexible, wet-strength, absorbent and skin-compatible textile material whose contact surface 7 'pointing in the direction of the sensor 5 has at least the same area as the contact surface 5' of the sensor 5 pointing in the direction of the skin. The gel carrier 7 is impregnated with a conductive hydrogel 8, such that a 0.2 to 3.5 mm thick gel body 9 is formed. The skin-side adhesive surfaces are protected with a removable polymer film as a cover 10. In this a trough-shaped recess 11 is formed for receiving the protruding gel body 9.
